Nirissos Residences, located in the quaint Cycladic island of Kea, stands proudly at the tip of a cove in Koundouros, surrounded by crystalline waters.
This beachfront property, which used to be the iconic Kea Beach Hotel back in the 1970s, immediately draws everyone's attention due to its imposing curved shape.
For this transformation, the building’s shell has been preserved, whereas the layout has been drastically changed in order to accommodate twelve luxury apartments. Consisting of five floors, the old stone cladding on the exterior walls has been kept intact in the lower levels and it is replaced by a thermal façade and vertical wooden panels in the upper levels, highlighting the sculptural virtues of the complex.
The apartments, arranged in groups of two or three on each floor, are all facing the open sea and range from a cozy 128sq.m. one-bedroom apartment to a spacious 347sq.m. three-bedroom apartment, with many two-and three-bedroom choices in between.
Each residence features en suite bedrooms, airy communal spaces, covered verandas with breathtaking views, and functional auxiliary spaces. The property also includes a swimming pool, a gym, and parking facilities.
By giving new life to an old resort so intimately linked to the history of the place, we wanted to offer a new take on holiday living. Instead of reviving it as a hotel, Nirissos Residences Kea becomes a modern ensemble of independent homes that combine collective living and individual needs.
